Wedding Timeline Collage

I am having fun making these timeline collages. I don't know why, but I was working on a senior portrait for a year book page collage all last week and now I have the collage making bug! It's so fun, takes your images and makes them even more interesting, tells a story and gives me something new to share! Enjoy~ Gretchen PS Be sure to read the previous post so you can make your own too! (If you have photoshop)

Dress up your Facebook Timeline with a Collage! HOW TO.

Facebook Timeline Collage Here's how! 1.open photoshop and make a blank template. The size is 850 Pixels x 320 pixels 2.Bring in each image that you want to add. You can resize it and then drag it into place in the window. 3.I find it helpful to press Control T to free transform and then resize the image WHILE YOU PRESS THE SHIFT key to avoid distortion. 4.Then, select the arrow key and move the image to where you want it. 5.You can also grab some rulers by pulling down from the top to drag it down and help you line things up. 6.The last thing I like to do is place my watermark on the image in several places. 7.Be sure to save as a jpg for easy uploading!  We love to make these for our clients! Give us a call today to book your portraits or wedding sessions and receive yours as our gift to you! Enjoy! Gretchen

The never finished Christmas Card

Yes, it's true. We did not get our Christmas card out despite working on it for several days and having every intention of sending it out to each and every one of you this year. Why does this happen? It's like if your husband is a carpenter, your house is usually the last one on the list because once he gets home from work, he doesn't want to work more! We actually enjoy designing our card. But since we did not get it out to you, I thought we could at least share it here! Enjoy~Gretchen PS I am still considering sending it out later as a happy spring card, how does that sound?

Why a professional photographer? My friend has a really nice camera....

There are so many people with amazing camera's out there! Even the iphone can take an amazing image. So why would you want to pay hundreds of dollars for professional photography?  I think there are several reasons not to. Here are a few thoughts: If you are totally happy taking your own images and you get what you want, then do not hire a professional. If you want a family image and you can pose and print exactly what you want, keep going! I see no problem with that. You being happy with the end result is what matters.  Now, the people I see who want to invest in professional photography are usually in these circumstances: 1. They want to have an overall experience a professional provides. We love our clients. We take them out, we go to several locations and we are having fun most of the time laughing a joking. We are creating art while we are doing this and we are able to provide you consistent quality images. 2. You want images of your whole family together and don't w

Every Day Life #2 {Spinny Thing}

Here's another peek into the everyday life of our household of three homeschooled daughters and one puppy! (Also mom and dad). I was out shopping for my middle daughters birthday and at Ross a few weeks ago. What will I get her, I was wondering. She's rather sporty and athletic and loves to have fun. I will find her dancing to the wii and swinging on the new swing we hung in the garage (it rains a lot here). So when I saw this disk that spins for only 6 or 7 bucks, I thought, "this will be good for hours of sister fun!" In the cart it went. We also gave her a bike, some clothes and a few other small things, but this little spinny thing has been the most fun and brought our three girls together for giggles and laughter as their hair flies up in the air and they try to stay on! "Watch Dad! Watch Mom!" They were thrilled I was going to feature this in our everyday life series. So head on down to Ross and get your spinny thing and tell me about how your kids

Every Day Life {#1 Bedhead}

I am starting a new post series on everyday life. I want to give a window into some special things in my heart that I can show you through my camera. I love seeing my kids grow up, but the mommy in me gets a little teary when I see my last little one grow out of things. Things like coming in the morning and snuggling in bed. Like asking me to read them books (now they all read to themselves). *Sigh* Today I am sharing the classic bedhead picture of my little J on the couch. Now you will notice there is a bookshelf behind her. Doesn't it remind you of those sweet reading moments where your kids are snuggled up giggling to a good book? Well, now it's the iphone. J sneaks out of bed to snatch my iphone and clean her fish tank or play the pony game. How times are achanging.  Iphone or book, the bedhead must be preserved. Soon enough she will be coming down all dressed and ready to be her beautiful self, heading out the door and onto the next thing if life. And I will capture tha

Fine Art Portraits! Thoughts on 12.

We love to take your portraits ! From simple to elegant, portraits are our thing. Our hearts sing when we get to work with someone who is elated to be having their portrait taken. Lots of people start out not thinking this is going to be fun, but I tell you, we and our clients are laughing and smiling most of the time. It takes some time to get comfortable, but we will take care of that.  We are especially excited to introduce out Fine Art Portrait sessions. The focus will be on capturing the essence of the wonderful you from our unique and artistic perspective. We will take you to an amazingly beautiful place and bring some clothes and props (like the dress in the picture) and make our magic to produce a portrait that's more than you imagined. You will leave and feel beautiful and excited to see what we captured during our time together.  There are many things about the above picture of my daughter. She just turned 12. I knew that she wanted to feel new and different in this
