www.GretchenFawnPhotography.com I have to admit, I have never been to see the cherry trees blossoming at UW! I mentioned that I was feeling very inspired on my fb page and I was going to get myself out there. I finally did. I was able to meet my brother Alex, who goes there, and we had a fun time. I was not expecting it to be a tourist attraction on a Sunday. In fact, I was thinking no one would be there on a Sunday at school. I could not have been more wrong. There were so many people, it was hard to get  a picture without 15 or so others in the background. I didn't mind though, because it was about taking in the beauty of these amazing trees and soaking up some sunshine. We walked all around and saw birds nests and other beautiful blossoms too. We even went into the library and shot some images. Please make your way over to UW to the "quad" this week as they will be gone before you can blink! Enjoy! Gretchen

We have had the most snow this March as I can remember ever in my life! The last two weeks I think it has snowed every single day. We were excited the first few, but as the days went on, we got a little cranky about it I must admit. However, as the weeks have gone on, we have had it there in the morning and gone before 2. I guess I can live with that type of snow that doesn't affect the roads and we can still get to where we needed to go. One of the days, I got the idea from another photographer, to be sure and look at the bright side and get some pictures of my kids. I dragged little J to the porch and she surprised me with this fun jump! Love it! Way to give Mom a good picture! Hello friends, Isn't this weather glorious? My kids think so, however, they had to go get some blackberry leaves for our stick bugs this morning. When they got back in, my 6 yr old said with disbelief, "It's COLD outside!!" We are getting spoiled with these warm days in October aren't we? All the better for our outdoor natural light photography. Here is a photo of my friend Heather! Over the weekend, I was able to help my brother, Alex take his first portraits. He recently switched majors to photography at UW. He came over and we went over the basics, then went outside, the clouds parted and we actually got some sunshine! He had the idea to shoot in front of the fall leaves! Red and crisp. Love it! He fb me and called me that he wanted to shoot more! Creativity is in the blood I tell you.
