Friends From Childhood- Senior Girls (Natural Light Photography)

Although Hannah and Serafina hadn't seen each other a ton lately, it was fun to get them together for some senior portraits.  They were best friends for years when we lived near to them in Seattle. Our two families have been through thick and thin together and that has left a very special place in my heart for the whole Cunliffe family! Hannah has 7 other sisters and one brother. Serafina has two sisters.   Now they are both 17! I cannot believe it. And I cannot wait to see where the two of them will be in the next 5 years. Hannah is a world renowned track star and Serafina is a very talented musician. When they were little, they sang in the church Christmas Choir together, played outside for countless hours, went to LBC together and generally smiled and played whenever they could. It's been a sweet time looking back at the pictures from their childhoods! Enjoy each moment, they fly by before you can say: "super-cala-fragile-istic-expe-alidocious!" En...

Our first house Seattle, WA 1997

I was planning another post for today, but came across these images of our first house and I thought to myself, "that would be fun to share with my fans". We lived in Des Moines, WA in a rental cottage and I got the desire to own our own home when we had our first daughter. After several deals that fell through, we were able to secure this house. It needed a lot of work and thankfully, my Dad is in construction and did a major overhaul for us. When we bought the home, it was 710 square feet and every inch of it was painted a light green color. When I say every inch, I mean every inch. Under the sinks, in the cupboards, all the walls and ceilings. Even the tub was that light green color. After we had our second daughter, our 710 sq ft didn't seem to have enough room for us. We looked into moving, but in the end decided we would end up with more house if we added on. I'll tell you, remodeling is not for the faint of heart! Especially when you h...

Fine Art Portraits! Thoughts on 12.

We love to take your portraits ! From simple to elegant, portraits are our thing. Our hearts sing when we get to work with someone who is elated to be having their portrait taken. Lots of people start out not thinking this is going to be fun, but I tell you, we and our clients are laughing and smiling most of the time. It takes some time to get comfortable, but we will take care of that.  We are especially excited to introduce out Fine Art Portrait sessions. The focus will be on capturing the essence of the wonderful you from our unique and artistic perspective. We will take you to an amazingly beautiful place and bring some clothes and props (like the dress in the picture) and make our magic to produce a portrait that's more than you imagined. You will leave and feel beautiful and excited to see what we captured during our time together.  There are many things about the above picture of my daughter. She just turned 12. I knew that she wanted to feel new and different in ...

Senior Pictures

I got an email from a mom asking about senior pictures a few days ago. How much and when those are the basic questions. Well, if you live here in Snoqualmie and it's raining, that is not the best day. But I like to start thinking about them the spring or summer before the senior year. You really want to have them in time for the yearbook picture submission which is in early fall. Please do begin thinking and budgeting now. You will have soooo sooo many things you are thinking about and doing at the beginning of senior year. Last year I was called on a Sunday morning, "Is there any way you can shoot some senior pictures today? Our deadline is Monday! We can't find a photographer. We had a friend of a friend cancel on us who was going to do us a favor..." Yikes. That is not how you want to get your senior pictures done. It would be much nicer to schedule in the spring or summer. Have a leisurely photo shoot where your kid looks amazing and then you get a week or two t...
