Why Does Custom Photography Cost More? The digital revolution has brought amazing flexibility and ability to control various factors during the image taking and making process. Photographers, the hobbyist, the professional, the amateur all benefit from this ability to manipulate pixels. However, with flexibility comes a price. Digital camera equipment is still considerably more expensive when you factor in its' lifespan, the need for additional resources for processing those images, the time it takes to get a usable image and the effort that goes into creating a work of photographic art. We all know that you can go to the local Walgreen's and pay a $1.99 for a print – as a client you may wonder why you may pay upwards of $50, $70, $90 for a custom photography print. Custom Photography as something "special" Custom photography is more of a luxury than your entry level cookie cutter chain experience. Custom photography truly is not for everyone, it requires a level of commitment, investment in time and money, forethought and planning on the part of the subject/client and requires a larger time commitment for the photographer as well. Clients who enjoy taking a more active role in the creation of their families’ memories have the desire to have portrait art that is truly personalized. These more discerning clients have been known to budget and allot time for a custom photography session. Many clients opt for it to be a once a year special experience, some opt to have custom photography sessions done to record their child's stages in life. Thought you might like to read the philosophy behind our business: Who? We are Joe and Gretchen Korf. We live in Snoqualmie, WA. with our three girls ages 14, 10 and 5 1/2. We enjoy living in the foothills of the Cascades. It's a beautiful life out here, with clean air, majestic mountains and a vigor for life! We enjoy small town living as compared to our first 9 years living nearer to Seattle. Joe has a degree in graphic imaging and Gretchen has a degree in photography. We love what we do! What? We take natural light relaxed portraits. We enjoy photography and find every photo shoot to mark a special moment in our lives. We most often work outdoors and love to capture the beauty in nature along with the beauty of our subject. Why? Upcoming Art show~ October 2nd

Hello! We hope this muggy and hot weather finds you well. We have been walking around in our skirts and tank tops today to stay cool. I can't remember a late September like this and I grew up here! Well, I got an email with this cool graphic for the show this weekend. We are so looking forward to participating with other local artists and to show you our new art from the summer. Mark the date! Art show coming up! OCT 2nd!

I get to have some extra fun on my birthday this year with an art show we will be participating in. There will be treats and snacks, there will be local artists, there will be things to look at and things for sale. There will be people to talk to and there will be a drawing! Hope you can come. Up and coming!

We have had a wonderful summer despite the uncooperative weather! New updates of images are now on our website. New music too! We are currently featuring local artist, Andrew Platter's music on our website. He has almost completed his 4th album. They opened up for the Newsboys! Current specials: Family Christmas Portraits with high end cards included, (25) $200 includes sitting fee and 25 cards with foil lined envelopes. Book before mid November to take advantage of this special. Also, Homeschool portraits. If you are a homeschool family and would like some portraits of your children, we are running a special this September. Date TBA. $50 includes sitting fee and several prints. We did this at the end of the year and had such a blast. I will post some examples soon.
