Gretchen Korf Portrait (Seattle, WA)

I just wanted to share with you a couple of my new portraits that were taken at the Quad at University of Washington. This is the perfect time of year to capture the flowering cherry blossom trees. They are a beautiful symbol of spring. I was able to wear the necklace that belonged to my Grandma Ruth who passed away last year around this time. I love how these turned out. A special thank you to Cheryl Ford Photography for taking them today! Take half an hour to stroll through UW soon, you won't regret it! Enjoy~Gretchen

Brent and Natalia (Seattle, WA)

I had so much fun collaborating with a group of photographers who I connected with on the Seattle Restart fb page on this portrait session. Brent and Natalia showed up dressed in their super cute, retro outfits. She even wore suspenders! (I later found out that Natalia owns an awesome upscale consignment store in Seattle, I'm drooling over. Check it out here: https://www.facebook.com/sellyoursoleseattle ) My new friend, Erica Sciarretta, who owns http://sorellaphotos.com/ invited Brent and Natalia to model for us. They were married sometime in the last year and as you can see, they have that "I cannot keep my hand off you" vibe! Another new friend, Candy Acosta secured the fun location for our learning pleasure in Northgate. You can check out her lovely photography here: http://www.candyacostaphoto.com/ . Besides getting to shoot and create with a wonderful group of photographers, I also enjoyed just being able to talk and ask each other questions. Watching...

Senior Portraits Snoqualmie, WA

East of the Mountains, there was sun and no clouds! Bits of snow here and there, but a beautiful model and radiant light! We love to capture your son or daughter in a unique, natural setting! This rock was so big, we shot through the middle of it! It's that time of year again! I know it seems early, but the best time for Senior portraits is the spring or summer BEFORE your senior year begins! The year book photos are due in October in our area and it takes time to take the portraits and have our slideshow presentation. I know there is so much to think about Fall of Senior Year as well, so getting them done when the weather is nice and stress is low, is the PERFECT plan! We also have free wallets for everyone who either schedules their session in March/April or refers a friend! What could be better? You would want to choose us for your portraits if your son or daughter wants an outdoor, natural feel to their portraits, if they are either shy or outgoing, and if they wa...

The Cherry Blossoms at UW! Spring event!

www.GretchenFawnPhotography.com I have to admit, I have never been to see the cherry trees blossoming at UW! I mentioned that I was feeling very inspired on my fb page and I was going to get myself out there. I finally did. I was able to meet my brother Alex, who goes there, and we had a fun time. I was not expecting it to be a tourist attraction on a Sunday. In fact, I was thinking no one would be there on a Sunday at school. I could not have been more wrong. There were so many people, it was hard to get  a picture without 15 or so others in the background. I didn't mind though, because it was about taking in the beauty of these amazing trees and soaking up some sunshine. We walked all around and saw birds nests and other beautiful blossoms too. We even went into the library and shot some images. Please make your way over to UW to the "quad" this week as they will be gone before you can blink! Enjoy! Gretchen

Large Family Portraits in Nature

We had the privilege to photograph our extended family last weekend. They were all in for the 4th of July. 27 people in all! We went to Great Wolf Lodge, it rained the whole time, but we didn't care because it's all indoors. Then we went to Seattle to sight see and yes, we rode the Duck! Very fun. I would recommend it to everyone. Not kidding. We were laughing almost the whole time. Then a big bbq at Gpa and Gmas with a fireworks finally. Monday, the whole group came out to our neck of the woods. We were out in a wonderful field with barn in our area. I wasn't sure we would get the mountain in because the clouds were blocking the sun, but at the very last minute the sun broke through the clouds and lite up the mountain. Fantastic!!! Families grow and change so much over time, it seems like we hardly notice. Then one day we wake up, they are no longer babies, but now toddlers and on up the line. Take time for some family portraits, you'll be so glad you did! We plan to...
