Thought you might like to read the philosophy behind our business:
Who? We are Joe and Gretchen Korf. We live in Snoqualmie, WA. with our three girls ages 14, 10 and 5 1/2. We enjoy living in the foothills of the Cascades. It's a beautiful life out here, with clean air, majestic mountains and a vigor for life! We enjoy small town living as compared to our first 9 years living nearer to Seattle.
Joe has a degree in graphic imaging and Gretchen has a degree in photography. We love what we do!
What? We take natural light relaxed portraits. We enjoy photography and find every photo shoot to mark a special moment in our lives. We most often work outdoors and love to capture the beauty in nature along with the beauty of our subject.
Why? There are lots of reasons to take pictures......our favorite is to mark a special time in the life of your child or your family. Some will have professional portraits taken yearly to celebrate and document the growth of their families, others like to mark a special age...NB, 1, 5, 10, 16, 18, Marriage..... consider what would work for your family and plan for that.You will never regret preserving those moments, but you might regret it if you don't....
Another thing to consider in choosing to have professional portraits taken is how it impacts how you (or your child) view themselves. We have been very blessed to see the "moral" of a child blossom as they see their portraits. People today are often bombarded with "perfection". Inside they are thinking and comparing themselves often in a negative way. A professional portrait session can really speak to a child's heart and show them their own beauty! Often giving them a new glimpse of a beauty they did not see when they took a look in the mirror. This is one of our favorite things about photography!
When? We generally shoot to capture the light! This means different times depending on the season and location. We can always find the right time to work with both our schedules. Since we work mainly outdoors, bad weather cancels. Your fees will be automatically moved over to our reschedule date.
Where? We have our special locations in North Bend and Snoqualmie. If you have a spot outside of these areas, we are usually happy to go there. There may be a small fee for extra travel time.
How? We like to work in a relaxed way. We spend part of the session posing and part of the session walking, laughing, and capturing the moments that make you who you are. Our clients leave feeling happy and have had a "great time" with us. We are understanding of children and their needs. We plan several hours, if needed, to capture the best, relaxed images of your child or family.
We appreciate some posed more traditional looks and other spontaneous looks and we know that you will too!
