Why a professional photographer? My friend has a really nice camera....

There are so many people with amazing camera's out there! Even the iphone can take an amazing image. So why would you want to pay hundreds of dollars for professional photography?
I think there are several reasons not to. Here are a few thoughts: If you are totally happy taking
your own images and you get what you want, then do not hire a professional. If you want a family image and you can pose and print exactly what you want, keep going! I see no problem with that. You being happy with the end result is what matters.
Now, the people I see who want to invest in professional photography are usually in these circumstances: 1. They want to have an overall experience a professional provides. We love our clients. We take them out, we go to several locations and we are having fun most of the time laughing a joking. We are creating art while we are doing this and we are able to provide you consistent quality images. 2. You want images of your whole family together and don't want to run back and forth trying to capture it yourself. A professional will give you time and get the images. You will be happy in the end or the professional will make sure you are. It's our job! We want you to be happy! 3. You value supporting local businesses. This is a big reason for people who support our business. We are thankful for you! 4. You do not have any fancy equipment and neither do your friends (or they do, but are not professional quality image takers). You want a crisp, artistic, beautiful image for your wall and for your Christmas cards. You are investing in preserving a moment in time. 5. You want professional retouching included in your images. We spend many hours, hand working each image so that it has a beautiful end result. In fact, my best friend growing up had been happily going to an inside chain photography place for years, but she called me because her sister was in town for a short time and they wanted pictures of the three cousins together. Unfortunantly, her son fell off his scooter and needed several stitches. Her normal place wasn't able to help her with retouching, but we were. We had such a fun time with the three boys in the field, she couldn't believe how fun it was and how easy it was with her young nephew.
Take a look at the above two images. This is the kind of general retouching we do and we are happy to provide all of our clients! Enjoy~ Gretchen
