All in the family {Snoqualmie Wedding Photographer On location Arlington and Vashon Island}

We were so very blessed to join this family both this weekend and the one before that for two weddings!  Amy and Kyle were in Arlington, WA at the beautiful Nature's Connection. They were so cute with their young sweet love and their flip flops. We had a great time taking portraits, the weather was amazing (I got a sunburn=)) and of course, the bride was breathtaking. Here are a few peeks of the day! And then, this weekend, we joined Amy's cousin, Lori for her and Buddy's wedding on Vashon Island. We expected a hot summer day, but we got a little more excitement with a spring like raining off and on day. We enjoyed all the laughs and fun of the day on Vashon. Lori and Buddy were so excited to be getting married and even the rain didn't damper their spirits. The sun came out brightly for the ceremony and it worked out wonderfully!

The real moment....{Wedding thoughts}

I am going through the thousand or so images of a wedding we photographed last month. It struck me, the emotions of the day. So much amazing creativity goes into the wedding, the invite, the clothes, the venue, the flowers, the decorations, the food, the songs for dancing, everything, right down to the shoes! It's beautiful, the day has arrived, all the preparations have been made, for the wedding. There is the moment that it is asked "Who gives this bride? I do, Her mother and I do." Mothers start tearing up, but there is more to go, the sermon, the communion, the closing, reception. There is little time for the feelings that come with our children leaving the home they have been in from birth and starting out a new life! Oh yes, back to the images, so it struck me, the emotions as the bride and groom walk down the farewell aisle and actually drive away from the reception. The emotions of the sweet young bride and her parents. I just had to share these and tell you the...

Wedding {Corry+ Joanna=LOVE} Beautiful Couple

It's late, but I couldn't help but choose a few of the hundreds of images we shot today at Cory and Joanna's wedding. We had a wonderful time with them. They are the sweetest young couple, full of joy and expectation for their wonderful future, with the full support and love of both of their families. It was a blessing for us to be there. I just kept saying beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, as I was shooting because everywhere I looked I saw the beauty of the bride and everyone with her. Enjoy! Gretchen

Family Portaits {Snoqualmie + Natural Light= Fun}

We had the best time taking these family portraits with the Wu family. They were a delight to work with. We could feel the love these parents have for their two sweet children and for each other. We all had fun running around the field and barn, but our favorite sweet moments were blowing dandelions together and making wishes. The rain barely held back, we almost cancelled, but I am so glad we didn't!

Cupcakes and Cookie decorating with the Girls Choir!

My girls have been a part of the Snoqualmie Valley Girls choir for the last 5 years. My friend Teri was the director when we first moved out here. They have had three other wonderful directors in that time and for the last few years, Laura Edvaldson has done a great job leading the girls with Sandy Hambrick on the piano. They both have special relationships with the girls in the choir! Let me not forget to mention the Madland family, who have been with the choir since the inception years ago! Their daughters have grown up and are now off at college. However, they still have a special place in their hearts for the choir and invited us all over to decorate cookies and cupcakes. It is truly a wonderful time! The girls look forward to it all year and this year, my middle daughter is the one in the choir, but she got to bring her older and her younger sister to join her. We were even serenaded by the Madland girls with some amazing tunes! Thanks to Lee and everyone else who made it a specia...
