The real moment....{Wedding thoughts}

I am going through the thousand or so images of a wedding we photographed last month. It struck me, the emotions of the day. So much amazing creativity goes into the wedding, the invite, the clothes, the venue, the flowers, the decorations, the food, the songs for dancing, everything, right down to the shoes! It's beautiful, the day has arrived, all the preparations have been made, for the wedding. There is the moment that it is asked "Who gives this bride? I do, Her mother and I do." Mothers start tearing up, but there is more to go, the sermon, the communion, the closing, reception. There is little time for the feelings that come with our children leaving the home they have been in from birth and starting out a new life! Oh yes, back to the images, so it struck me, the emotions as the bride and groom walk down the farewell aisle and actually drive away from the reception. The emotions of the sweet young bride and her parents. I just had to share these and tell you the bittersweetness of that moment is beautiful and sorrowful all at the same time. *sigh* My own three daughters may be walking this same walk sometime in the next ten or so years. It makes my heart pound a little harder and my trust in God's plan for them a little stronger as I ponder this "real moment". Blessings, Gretchen
