We caught the light moments before it went behind the hills. Serafina is 15. We wanted to capture her love of horses, her beauty and her spark. I think we did! We had about 20 minutes to photograph the kids (her sisters were there too). When we walked in the pasture, the horses all walked right on over to us. We were unable to use our reflector, because it was spooking the horses. Well, except one who came over and sneezed on it. Gross! That same one just kept standing by Joe and looking and sniffing the reflector. Not what we thought would happen. I was wearing sandals and I was more worried I would get my feet stepped on. Becka was gracious to allow us to photograph in her fields and the results were well worth the effort. Serafina is a beautiful young lady and a pleasure to photograph! Enjoy, Gretchen

There's so much to say and share when you are friends with the family's at the wedding. First, as always, let me express my gratitude to the Wargi's for allowing us to capture this special day of their first daughter to get married!! They have four girls and one on the way, another girl. Having three daughters ourselves, we are very excited. Kayla was so sweet when she asked if we would like to photograph the wedding and wanted us to be sure we wouldn't rather just BE at the wedding. We love photography, so we were delighted to both BE and photograph this once in a lifetime day! In fact it was extra special to be behind the scenes and see both of them getting ready for their special day. They choose a beautiful location at the Old Snoqualmie Winery. The weather was slightly overcast which was merciful because it would have been way too hot the whole time for them. The ceremony was so special and sweet. We were so very blessed to join this family both this weekend and the one before that for two weddings!  Amy and Kyle were in Arlington, WA at the beautiful Nature's Connection. They were so cute with their young sweet love and their flip flops. We had a great time taking portraits, the weather was amazing (I got a sunburn=)) and of course, the bride was breathtaking. Here are a few peeks of the day! And then, this weekend, we joined Amy's cousin, Lori for her and Buddy's wedding on Vashon Island. We expected a hot summer day, but we got a little more excitement with a spring like raining off and on day. We enjoyed all the laughs and fun of the day on Vashon. Lori and Buddy were so excited to be getting married and even the rain didn't damper their spirits. The sun came out brightly for the ceremony and it worked out wonderfully! 

I am going through the thousand or so images of a wedding we photographed last month. It struck me, the emotions of the day. So much amazing creativity goes into the wedding, the invite, the clothes, the venue, the flowers, the decorations, the food, the songs for dancing, everything, right down to the shoes! It's beautiful, the day has arrived, all the preparations have been made, for the wedding. There is the moment that it is asked "Who gives this bride? I do, Her mother and I do." Mothers start tearing up, but there is more to go, the sermon, the communion, the closing, reception. There is little time for the feelings that come with our children leaving the home they have been in from birth and starting out a new life! Oh yes, back to the images, so it struck me, the emotions as the bride and groom walk down the farewell aisle and actually drive away from the reception. It's late, but I couldn't help but choose a few of the hundreds of images we shot today at Cory and Joanna's wedding. We had a wonderful time with them. They are the sweetest young couple, full of joy and expectation for their wonderful future, with the full support and love of both of their families. It was a blessing for us to be there. I just kept saying beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, as I was shooting because everywhere I looked I saw the beauty of the bride and everyone with her. Enjoy! Gretchen
