Time to upgrade! (Snoqualmie Photographer)

Hello! Haven't had the chance to blog all weekend. We were out shopping around for the next lens we want to buy. We went into Seattle on Saturday and tried 3 or 4 on for size. We loved them all and originally thought we wanted the 70-200, but soon realized that we would be able to use the 24-70. I was able to order it and can't wait to try it! The glass promises to be extra sharp, clear and wonderful. We also stopped off at some stores and got a few pairs of new (used) jeans. That is funny in itself as we buy new lenses, but used clothes. Why is this? Well, I guess if the new clothes get dropped it's no biggie and you can usually see any problems right off. With camera gear, sometimes you can't tell and it's a big investment. That makes sense right? I think so. What things do you get new vs. used? We love to hear your comments! Gretchen PS the pic above is of Joe checking out this camera that was out and me trying out the lens=)

Lake Chelan

Here are a few more fun ones from Chelan! Enjoy!

What's new?

I kept thinking this weekend, that I need to post to the blog! So here I am on late Monday night. I was able to show some family pictures tonight. I can't wait to get the Christmas cards printed. I just got new templates and can't wait to share them with you! I will put some together hopefully tomorrow. They are beautiful. I was looking back over the trip we took to Lake Chelan this September. (here I am relaxing on the beach I think of as mini Hawaii=) It is so beautiful there and the water looks clear blue in some of the pictures. A friend suggested we come up with a special rate and take everyone's family pictures when we are there next year! I love that idea! Let me know if you have any family functions where you have more than one "branch" of your family together and we can definentely come up with a package where we can photograph one big family of you all and then break it down into the smaller groups. More to come....Gretchen

I found these pictures on a memory card yesterday from last summer! Josie is now 6 1/2. These were taken when she was 5! It was so sweet to look back at her before she lost any teeth and remember that fun time we had taking these. I wanted to get creative, so I made this collage. I would love to give one to you for free, just for booking any portrait session before Nov 1, 2010. Act now!! 425 922 2324. Feel free to tell your friends. Gretchen

Glorious Weather! and Got to help my brother.

Hello friends, Isn't this weather glorious? My kids think so, however, they had to go get some blackberry leaves for our stick bugs this morning. When they got back in, my 6 yr old said with disbelief, "It's COLD outside!!" We are getting spoiled with these warm days in October aren't we? All the better for our outdoor natural light photography. Here is a photo of my friend Heather! Over the weekend, I was able to help my brother, Alex take his first portraits. He recently switched majors to photography at UW. He came over and we went over the basics, then went outside, the clouds parted and we actually got some sunshine! He had the idea to shoot in front of the fall leaves! Red and crisp. Love it! He fb me and called me that he wanted to shoot more! Creativity is in the blood I tell you. My sister Julie has her BFA from Southern Oregon and has lived there for the last 10 or more years. She has her own printmaking studio called PROOF in Talent, OR. You can find...
